The writing process
This is different for every writer. Some writers have very regimented schedules preferring to write at the same time every day. Some prefer the morning hours to get the work done before tackling other pursuits, and some the evening hours after everyone else has gone to bed. I have no set schedule. It doesn't matter as long as there is a commitment to get words onto paper, and to do so fairly regularly. At times ideas come quickly and I can sit for hours. At other times, nothing is flowing so I take a break and clear my head. Each writer can decide for themselves which works best. No doubt, the hardest part is the plotting and coming up with a good story that will keep the readers attention.
The Mechanics of Fear
An enjoyable thriller is built on a foundation of unease. Thriller writing involves weaving complex webs of deception where the truth is rarely what it seems. One should focus on pacing and the slow burn of tension, ensuring that every chapter ends with a question that demands an answer which can only be found by continuing to read the next chapter.
A World Built on Secrets
My narratives are set in scenic atmospheric locales that serve as more than just backdrops. From water-filled rock quarries to magnificent estates, I use the setting to amplify the psychological stakes. This commitment to interesting locations ensures that readers aren't just observing the story—they are escaping from the mundane to places they would rather be.
Beyond the Page
Writing isn't just a hobby; it's a way of seeing the world. Behind the prose is a dedication to the puzzle. I spend time researching forensics, places and business names, and exploring locations to bring authenticity to every chapter. Welcome to a world of shadows, timeless intrigue, and suspense.
